Resources For Current and Aspiring Dog Trainers
Many years ago, when I was first learning about dog behavior and training, there weren't many resources available that incorporated modern, gentle, science-based methods. And there certainly wasn't much information about setting up a business, structuring lessons, dealing with clients, or other important issues. My hope is that my books, ebooks, and recorded seminars (DVD or streaming) will help you on your path, whether you're an aspiring or experienced trainer. In addition, the Dog Trainer's Business Kit (CD-ROM or download) will save you time and effort in creating contracts, handouts, and more.

If you are a new trainer, start with So You Want to be a Dog Trainer, which is Book 1 in the 4-book Train the Trainer series. Books 2, 3 and 4 are It's Not the Dogs, It's the People, One on One, and Getting a Grip on Aggression Cases.
Some of the items I've included on this page are aimed strictly at trainers, while others cover topics that are for the public as well, but are especially important for any trainer to know about. I've included "Hit by a Flying Wolf" too in case you'd like to read about my own journey with Bodhi's very challenging behavior when he was first adopted, my life rescuing and working with wolves and wolfdogs, and other dog-related stories. If you have questions, you can always reach me at info@nicolewilde.com. I'm happy to support you on your journey. And if you'd like more personalized help, check out my website Dog Trainer's Friend.
